San Francisco - Day 2

After really catching up on my sleep I hit the town and started exploring. First, I brought my car into San Francisco BMW to get a little check up, top off the oil and give him a bath to wash all the salt off from Bonneville.

Then I went over to Golden Gate park and rented a bike for 2 hours and biked around the lake, the hippy drum circles and the scenic drive along Lincoln Ave. I got to the Academy of Sciences a little too late in the day so I'm going to go back on Friday so I can stay longer.

I decided to walk around the Japanese Tea Gardens for a bit after my bike ride (See photos). They had some amazing iced green tea.

Afterwords, I went into the Italian section of the city and walked around a bit before stepping into a little trattoria for a quick bite.

I think they thought I was a restaurant critic or something because the service was amazing. At least 3 people were attending to me during my meal. The gnocchi w/ Pesto was fantastic. It was some of the lightest gnocchi I've ever had.

I finished the day meeting some friends for drinks at a local bar and winning a Trivia contest. It was a total blow out. We won by like 10 questions.

A few observations.

1). Golden Gate park has some of the most brazen squirrels I've seen. I was sitting on a park bench and one saddled up right next to me and asked me for some change.

2). What's up with having a dog as an accessory. Does everyone in the city own a dog and feel inclined to bring them everywhere?

3) San Francisco takes their hybrid cars very seriously. There is a $500 fine for parking in the Electric Car spots in the Academy of Sciences parking garage. Interestingly, there is only a $250 fine for parking in the Handicap Spots. Screw the disabled...long live the tree hugger!

4) Biking in San Francisco is both really fun and awful at the same time (...weeee, it's a hill! D'oh, it's a hill!).

5) Ok, so I want to know the name of the Genie I need to talk to for the weather to always be cool, breezy and sunny with a high of 75 and a low of 68.

6) Hipsters!!! It's a real problem folks! They are taking over all of our cities.
