I'm in San Francisco now. We arrived Sunday night around 10:30pm and checked into the Four seasons hotel...Che Bella! The Four Seasons really knows how to put together a hotel.
Unfortunately, we had to wake up at 5:30am to get Brian to the airport. We have now entered a new phase of my trip. I will be mostly flying solo. I have friends joining me for little day trips here and there but it's just going to be me, the open road and, of course, the portrait of Teddy Roosevelt that I bought. I've moved him to the front seat to keep him safe and to give me someone to talk to. I'm just kidding...You can start worrying when I blog about letting him take the wheel.
Yesterday was a pretty restful day. I got back to the room at 6:45 and went back to sleep until 10. (Note: The beds at the four seasons are practically made out of pillows. It's almost like they commissioned Heaven to design their bedrooms).
Next stop was AT&T park and the marina. I got some lunch and walked around a bit then went back to the room to start packing and check out. I'm staying with my friend Nick in Sausalito for a few days. On the way out to meet him, I crossed another 2 items off my list...drive the Golden Gate Bridge and drive down Lombard street (the crookedest street in America).
Lombard street was pretty cool, but I sort of felt bad for the people that live there. You always have people on your front steps and traffic blocking your drive way. I would imagine it gets frustrating after a while.
Anyway, I got a good nights sleep last night and I'm off to spend the day in Golden Gate park. Tomorrow I'm heading out to Napa and Friday I'm taking a catamaran out on the bay.
