After getting some lunch at Luke's Italian Beef downtown, I was inspired by my lake shore drive experience to just go ahead an reenact as much of the Ferris Bueller movie as possible while in Chicago.
We checked out the Willis Tower (f.k.a. The Sears Tower) and then we went to the Chicago Art Institute to roam the exhibits for a few hours and get out of the oppressive heat. We caught a fantastic exhibit of Italian sketches in chalk and pen and ink that was scheduled to close the end of this week so I'm glad we had a chance to see it. The main exhibit at the institute right now is a retrospective through the life of Roy Lichtenstein and that was really a treat!
Next stop was the State Street Barber shop for a hot towel shave and a quick trim.
In about 10 min I'm going to try to hijack a parade float and belt out Twist and Shout down the Magnificent Mile...so stay tuned!!!
Then I think I'll cap off the night at Benny's Chop House for a mostly liquid dinner of Gin and Scotch.
P.S. What appears to be a sketch of Michaelangelo's "Damned Soul" is actually a picture of me after the barber slapped some after shave on my face post-shave.
