Today we woke up in Glacier National Park and started our drive down to Yellowstone National Park.
We took our time and made a bunch of stops on the way. We drove along Flathead lake during most of the drive which made the trip much more scenic than the drive up to Glacier earlier this week (We approached from the east during the drive up).
We stopped in a town called Polson, MT for lunch. This area of the state is pretty amazing. It is like a bunch of vacation spots merged into one. There were mountains, farm land, lake fronts, marinas, and rivers flowing to/from the lake. The lake is also really big...it took at least 2 hours to drive from one side to the other.
We went to a place called Tootsie's for lunch which looked like it should have been right out of Diner's, Drive-ins and Dives. It was fantastic. Brian's sandwich was almost as big as his head.
We also drove past the Lady of the Rockies marking the Continental Divide in Butte, MT.

The statue sort of looks like the "Christ the Redeemer" statue in Rio...except for the fact that it is a woman and not in Brazil.
Next stop was the hot springs outside Norris, MT. At first we missed the sign and ended up swimming in this little watering hole where the water wasn't really that hot. We just assumed that we weren't on the right side of the water or maybe that the hot springs are only active during certain times. Then we found the real hot springs a few miles away and took a dip there before finishing up the last 80 mile stretch before reaching Yellowstone.
I am beginning to realize that I need to start spicing these blog posts up again. Too many pictures of mountains and nature makes my blog a dull boy. Things will get really interesting again on Saturday when I attempt to break the Land Speed record on the Bonneville Salt Flats. Tomorrow I'll jump across the Yellowstone Volcano or befriend an owl or something.
Stay Tuned...
