I am a big fan of this place.
Maybe it's the fact that I can totally nail their accent.
Maybe it's because it sort of reminds me of Chicago, my second favorite city in the US.
Maybe it's because it is so pleasantly cool here.
Maybe it is because all the women dress in short shorts...seriously...I'm talking the ones that are shorter than the actual pockets...yeah those.
Or maybe its because they all drive like animals...and I dig it. They don't drive like dumb animals like if you were to put a monkey behind the wheel or a mule or someone from Ohio...They drive like aggressive, fast animals...like pumas or maybe a fox. I usually get upset when people cut me off, but here I was like, "Yeah, I probably would have cut me off too. Touché!".
Nevertheless, I award Minneapolis my 4th Favorite City Award...behind NY, Chicago, and San Francisco.
Today was a pretty leisurely day. I woke up around 9am got some breakfast, watched some TV and went to the Mall of America.
The Mall of America is seriously huge. I spent like 4 hours there and I probably only saw 20% of the place.
Afterwords, I went to Emily's Lebanese Deli (Yet another Diners, Drive-ins and Dives place...I am totally crushing it with these places). As usual, this place did not disappoint. I had a kafka burger, some stuffed grape leaves and a Turkish coffee.
Once I finished dinner I started driving north to Duluth. I had a few drinks and crashed a bachelorette party (The grizzly man beard is a big hit up here). Next I hopped on the Lake Shore drive above Lake Superior and drive into the middle of nowhere. It is seriously remote up here. It just a bunch of private lake houses and wild life preserves. I'm camped at some state park right now. Tomorrow I'm planning to climb Eagle Mountain--the highest point in Minnesota.
