I'm not in Kansas anymore!

Ok...so it's time to do a little catch up.

Wednesday morning we got breakfast at the "Bagel Deli in Denver" another Diners, drive ins and dives place. It was really good...I highly recommend it. After dropping Tim off at the airport I met up with my friend Josh who was actually in the process of moving out of Denver to Ohio.

After grabbing a quick bite, I started to make my way up to Cheyenne and then over to Panorama Point, the high point for Nebraska. I did't get there until around 9pm and it was kind of weird driving through all these corn fields in the dark. However, every once and a while these cornfields have a paved road between them instead of a dirt one. I think it was the first time this trip that I've gone quadruple the speed limit.

Nevertheless, next stop was Kansas. I had to get to Mt. Sunflower which is the highpoint for Kansas (See Photos).

"Um Hello...Kansas, this is all the other states calling. Can you find some attractions other than the birthplace of Bob Dole?" That state was like the most boring drive of my life. It's just a bunch of corn and wheat fields. At least Iowa has the "Field of Dreams" movie set and free WiFi at their rest stops (Which I'm using right now...ah...full circle).

So I finally made it out of Kansas around 9pm and rolled into Kansas City, MO. I got some BBQ spot recommendations but they were all closed or in the ghetto and I'm pretty sure some guy was about to car jack me. Thanks BMW for 0-60 in 5.4 seconds.

Anyway, I decided to hit up yet another Diners, Drive-ins and Dives place called "Grinders". It was very good. Surprisingly, they actually made a great slice of pizza too. I had the "Le Hog" which was a slice of thin crust white pizza with sausage, ham, bacon, and onions.

Then I got back in the car and started driving north to Minneapolis where I found a 4 star hotel for $75 for tonight on Hotels.com.

P.S. I just recently shattered the 24,500 miles mark (10,000 by car + 14,500 by plane). That means I've traveled the same distance as the circumference of the earth in the last 46 days!!! Woooooo!!!
